BARISTA MAP Coffee Roasters Shinsaibashi
Where Coffee Meets Japan
The flagship store opened on April 25, 2025, in Shinsaibashi, Osaka (2-18-12 Nishishinsaibashi). The store evolved from a 1.8 tsubo (approx. 6.2 m2) coffee stand originally started by CEO Shinsaku Miyama, and is now a new base fusing Japanese culture with coffee. The interior has a calm, modern Japanese feel, and Takemoto Oritayu, a puppeteer of the traditional Bunraku puppet theater, is involved as creative director.
The charm of the space lies in the harmony of Japanese history and modernity, with a counter reminiscent of the former restaurant "Kappo Tsuruzawa" and a Japanese white pine bonsai.

Creative Director
With the opening of the Barista Map flagship store, led by Shinsaku Miyama, I have been appointed as the creative director of Barista Map. I am here to assist him in realizing his dream of relocating the flagship store to Shinsaibashi, and to realize his ideal of integrating his coffee with Japanese culture and hospitality through coffee culture.
I first met him four years ago at his 1.8 tsubo stand shop across from the stage entrance of the National Bunraku Theatre. I fell in love with the coffee he served me before the Bunraku performances, and started brewing it at home as well.
Furthermore, I have offered the space for this new store to be the former location of Kappo Tsurusawa, my birthplace. Going forward, together with Mr. Miyama, I intend to create and spread an entirely new coffee culture from Americamura, Shinsaibashi, so I look forward to your visit.
