The Fusion of Bunraku and Baristas Creating Japanese Hospitality
Oritayu Takemoto of the traditional cultural art of "Bunraku" joins as Creative Director.
Creative Director
I am Oritayu Takemoto, and I have been appointed as the creative director of Barista Map. I am assisting Mr. Shinsaku Miyama with his dream of relocating his main store to Shinsaibashi, following the opening of the new Barista Map flagship store led by him. My goal is to help him realize the hospitality of a coffee culture that combines his coffee with his ideal vision of Japanese culture.
My encounter with him was four years ago at a 1.8-tsubo stand store across from the dressing room entrance of the National Bunraku Theatre. I fell in love with his coffee, which I would drink before my Bunraku performances, and I began to brew it at home.
Furthermore, the location of this new store is where my family home, Tsurusawa, which was a Japanese restaurant, used to be. From now on, Mr. Miyama and I intend to create and disseminate an entirely new coffee culture from Shinsaibashi Amerikamura, and we kindly ask for your patronage.
